RE: stereo amp flywheel supply, 40% more hum in one channel

Are you grounding all your channel frames to safety ground?

I'd pull the tubes and load the power supplies with resistors, then start disconnecting things on the right channel till the hum drops.

If I had to make a wag, I'd say the filament transformers could be the culprit.
