Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

update 2

Well, I still can't tell you exactly where the ground loop was, but instead of bypassing the volume controls on my breadboards (they are older units and need replacing) I went ahead and hooked the rca cables from the preamp back up to them and now the hum in the left channel is very low. At least this way I can do my listening tests and decide if I want to use a 6c6 or an ef37a for the driver tube. They take different sockets so I have to decide before I can put the chassis together. I am hoping the remaining hum will disappear when I put the final amp together with a proper layout and lead dress.
Thanks for the help!
