RE: cloning the Fisher

Yes, I know Dave and he is a super tech.

My favorite Fishers use a 12AX7 phase splitter that is engineering wise not near the equal of a 6CG7. The 'flawed' 12AX7 in this application may make some of that Fisher sound. Your audio transformers per Dave match up well. The later (est 41000 s/n) Fisher 400 use high impedance plate to plate audio transformers too.

Either way, you will have a fine sounding amplifier. I like Vitamin Q and K40Y-9 coupling capacitors. Even more than pedigree Mundorf Silver/Oil capacitors.
