That is a no-no , the FCC standards are there for a reason . What is the point with a non-standard antenna when this stuff is so cheap and readily available ? The correct way to do it is to add additional access points to provide coverage and avoid interference with neighbour's wifi networks . 5GHz has it's benefits : far more channels available
