I'm still looking for a cost-effective means to match the output stage of a dedicated headphone amplifier to multiple impedance phones. Something around $200/pr or less would be preferable. Edcor has a couple transformers that might be suitable, but they're the mid-grade line. I would like to find a solution with a wider guaranteed response if possible.
Hammond has a couple transformers that might work, but one is rated for 70V work as shown below:
The 70V spec always confuses me as to what it actually means, probably because I don't work with it very often. Just to be sure I'm on the right track, can someone confirm that I'm correctly calculating the Z of the 70V output?
