You (and I) might learn more about this subject over on the Tubes Asylum, but from what I've read, the optimum vintage of any Russian tube seems to be a function of the tube type. For example, I used 6C33Cs in my amplifiers. The scuttlebutt was that the best of those were made in the Ulyanov factory up to the early 90s, and they bear/bore that winged logo. Later 6C33Cs are said to be less reliable and less consistent in their operating parameters, but I have no personal proof that this is true. With 6C45s and 6H30s, there is also a belief system in play.
