Russian tubes quality vs year of fabrication

Hello!
I have been told that for a certain tube model, the ones built in late sixties have more gold content in grid wires and overall better quality than same tube model built later, late eighties for example.
I'm curious if some people here have had that kind of experience. Is it that russian fatories slowly lowered their specs over time? Is that audible anyways?
I guess this phenomenon might not be only for Russian tubes, as it seems to me that global industrial quality is falling apart, with planned obsolescence, sweat shops etc...
