Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

You could provide a voltage reference.

...by attaching a zener diode at the junction of the base of that NPN pass transistor. The zener would be in parallel with the 4700uf-25v E cap. The value of this cap controls turn on time. The zener diode should be .7v less than the desired output voltage and there is no indication of what the desired output filament voltage is. This is a very BRITISH schematic. The filament supply diode bridge is not fully drawn. There is no wiring diagram/schematic (series-parallel??) of the filament wiring. He is applying a DC bias to the filaments and raises them above ground. Moe
