In fact some are just re-branded-rewired 12bh7. If you are going to the trouble of building then why not use the most linear tubes and a 6SN7, are more linear because they have much bigger parts. Read Morgan Jones book. Unless you are tied to a circuit board that is already laid out for miniature tubes. The whole advantage of building is to break away from the crowd. Conformity doesn't get you anything but safety. But maybe you want safety. AND DON'T BUY CHINESE.
