I've been searching for a solution regarding economical OPTs for headphone amplifiers. There are several possible paths for topology, but they all seem to lead toward Edcor due to cost considerations. The problem is, all Edcor specifications for frequency response are stated at extremely low power levels, such as "20~20K Hz., < 1dBu." I don't mind buying a few different models to determine how they perform, but there's no sense reinventing the wheel. Before I go to a lot of time and trouble, has anyone here made actual response measurements of Edcor products at more meaningful levels? I'm considering both the SE gapped transformers and ungapped matching transformers.
