Simulate the Circuit in Spice First

I don't build anything anymore without first simming it in LTSpice. My 833C amp sims were essential to building a 2.3kV amp that worked the first time I flicked the switch, with only minor adjustments needed to be completely dialed in. All the voltages that worked best in the sim for the direct coupling were very close to what I ended up with. It will tell you what your grid current will be in whatever scenario you choose. No danger of breaking anything during the computer debugging, either.

Plus it's fun! It's like a video game, but with a purpose! Just need to find a good tube model for the 845...try Simcity on the Intact audio site, that's where I found my 833 model, and it's pretty close.
