Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

Problem solved.

Drilling a small undercut at the top of the tapped hole solved the problem.
Now the shoulder washer inserts into it and everything is kept centered and isolated (no measured resistance at all between tab and heatsink). I didn't add thermal paste, and readings with an infrared meter show a slightly better heatsinking performance... As was mentioned.

I'll never know if the paste was leaking, but who cares... I might not ever use it again anyways. I won't miss this messy stuff.

Thank you for all the suggestions and advice. You guys rock!
Joris
