RE: 6883B for use as a audio power tube

I respectfully question your thinking !!

I think you are rather foolishly wasting your time and money while trying to save a buck, you are building an entire amp on a unknown ( pig in the poke ) sonics tube !!!

If you like the sound of GE 6550s ( I do ) get some !!!! and run them conservatively at Golden Ratio plate dissipation ratings for decades.

If you NEED 100 Watts to power your speaker, you are simply NOT into tubes. You would be better served, performance-wise, with a good, real good solid state amp for such a speaker, think Spectral, Boulder, etc. and some $$$$ spent. How about a mid priced "Job" amp for ATCs, see on-line references.

If you like "tubes", get speakers that are OVER 94 dB sensitivity, and I'd suggest over 100 dB sensitivity even more-so.

We live and learn. Different horses for different courses. Change either your speaker or amp type.
