Not wanting to leave this world prematurely if I can help it, I am looking for a lower B+ voltage 211 amp for my next breadboard project. I know that 600 volts will kill you too, but 1200 volts is darned intimidating.
Some years back I heard about a 211 amp that was written up in "stereo sound magazine"(a Japanese publication I believe) that had the following parametersPlate volts - 480 vdc
Plate current - 40 madc
grid volts - -20 vdc
load resistance - 10K ohms
power output - 2.6 watts/channelThat is all the information I have on it, but it sounds like just the kind of design I am looking for. My speakers are very efficient and the power would be enough for most of what I listen too. I was also told by people that had heard similar amps that it sounded really good.
I would really like to find a copy of the article or a schematic for the amp if one exists.
Short of that if anyone knows how to reverse design a schematic using those operating points I would be grateful. I have no idea what was used for the drivers, so I am in the dark there too.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
