RE: Bias source from B+ or seperate trans, which is better?

The reversed filament transformer works very well in restoring vintage amps with new power transformers that lack bias taps. Just use a 12v part 300ma is more than enough, and you will get 60v AC which is where most bias taps fall on the classic 50-70w PP amps like Dynacos, Eicos, Heathkit.

You do know to always replace a selenium bias rectifier without question?
