If you use Schotkys which is what I always use now,you don't have the noise issue with these and they will sound much better then any diode I have heard in the DC supply...You can put snubbers in with the Schottkys but it isn't necessary..
If you use the other diode types,you want to use a cap with a higher ESR for snubber or at least put resistor in series with it and that should suppress turn-on noise or DC transient spikes.
