RE: What is the best way to hook up 2 rectifiers?

With the rectifier taps you have, I personally would use a pair of 6CJ3 damper diodes as rectifiers. You can run these with the heaters in parallel from the 6.3V 8A supply. These are indirectly heated single diodes so this heater connection will work (I use it myself).

Use a normal full wave circuit with one 6CJ3 in each side.

The 6CJ3 have an exceptionally low voltage drop at the currents typically used for valve circuits, so dynamic voltage drop with load will be very low which is generally a good thing. And they sound very good indeed! I almost always use them.
Also, they are *very* cheap! You may notice the kind of price that good 5ar4's fetch, like £300 or so for nice Philips/Mullard metal base .... which isn't why I use them but it helps.
