After our chat yesterday, I decided to put away my trusty Maggie 9300 / Alpair combo and hook up the Mac240 we built tugether ,and my Heresy1's.
As a kid would text...OMG!
I was shocked at the synergy . Normally I don't care too much for the horns, and with the Maggie ,they were awful. However ,whatever we did, something is really right on this amp.
The few mods we did in addition to the McShane mods , some resistor and cap mods as I recall ,set the thing up such that my humble ears were extremely happy.
Ill never be in the class of you, Eli and others. But it gives me a benchmark to shoot for..
Thanks buddy, ill send you some lobsters and scallops as soon as the water gets warm enough to jump in. Better yet ,maybe ill bring them personally. The batteries on our phones would appreciate that.
