Eli says it well. You may be able to get that taller B+ easily.
For example, if you are using a L-Critical choke input filter, you could reduce the choke's inductance to non-critical, with a L1/C1/L2/C2 and get the "taller" B+ you need.
PSUD 2 in a Triad C-56U with a 2 A. current rating, 35 mHY and 0.8 Ohms DCR as L1. Useful piece. L2 could be an EDCOR "XC" series, either 1.5 HY at 17 Ohms or 2 HY. at 21 Ohms. C1 is 20 uF WIMA DC Link flat plate film and C2 is 50 uF WIMA, same type.
Execute the Rk with closely matched and doubled-up Mills MRA series Rk resistors, and employ as short a return to ground as possible, and it will be more dynamic-sounding than using any single resistor.
