I checked the left channel of my SE DC beta follower circuit and it measures a lot lower in THD vs. the right channel. The right channel has some kind of instability because the THD will go up and down by 1% while the left channel remains constant.
Here is the spectrum graph of the left channel. Looks better.
2nd harmonic : -35.5dB
3rd harmonic : -43.8dB
4th harmonic : -66.5dB
5th harmonic : -69.6dBNow I have to determine the cause of the problems with the right channel.
Update : I found the problem with the right channel.
First, I swapped 6SN7's between channels. No changes.
Next, I swapped 2A3's and the distortion on the right channel was about the same as the left, 1.72%THD at 1W.
I'll keep the Chinese 2A3B monoplates for testing and other abusive activites, but I am in the market for a better set of 2A3's.
