RE: Absolute nonsense

Well if it is nonsense why is it that almost every time I put a SS diode in between the supply and the output trans the amp's bass control increases massively. Almost every SE amp I have built (not pp)I try it hoping it wont work because its a horrid cheat but it does and they stay in there. I always figure when I build a really good supply I wont need them. And I believe the more crappy capacitance you have the better it works.I believe it is blocking the caps charging and robbing the output stage but I am only guessing. I do wonder if in line diodes in lots of different supply positions might be advantageous like between driver and output for the above reasons. Maybe signal isolation could be another advantage.

With all this difficulty trying to build a ideal SE amp power supply. My next big amp is going to be pp so I don't have to stress about it.
