I was wanted to use these magic eyes I bought off of Ebay some time ago.
I put a signal level indicator circuit on my breadboard.
It was a 1629 magic eye with a 12AX7 driver.
I put my signal generator on the input of the amp and the magic eyes responded to the variation of input signal.
There is also a sensitivity control, which did seem to function as well.
Now to hook it up to a music signal for further evaluation.
Note for "modern" tube amp builders: black insulation on clip leads and ground wires is for working out the basic circuit only.
Not recommended for a final build.
