Nice job - "I've always wanted" to use a couple of 1629 "magic eye" tubes as level indicators on my preamp.
"black insulation on clip leads and ground wires is for working out the basic circuit only. Not recommended for a final build."
Please tell me that you are joking. What possible difference would the use of black wires make on a level indicator?
