I have made this mistake. You're better off to avoid placing a resister in your B+ prior to the plate.

I know you have already bought your power Tranny...;>0

In the future, buy a tranny that provides a voltage slightly lower than what you need and tweek with a small cap prior to your choke. You still get the benefit of the choke input.

If you have to drop your B+ with a resister, use a 50 or 100 watt. Just don't place it before the choke.
