Green Frames:

When ordered from Bahrs, there is no bottom to the channel, and it radiates into the chassis. So I order extra frames, and I personally tin snip bottom pieces. That green is a powder coat color I selected. I purchased several pounds of powder, so I have my frames and bottom pieces powder coated that green - and supply them to my winder.

Chassis materials :

I do not like the sound of Aluminum.

My audio mentors , Messers Bob Fulton, and Dennis Fraker, would have me do heavy gauge steel instead of copper. The steel gives good shielding, and highly magnetic pieces get suspended off the chassis with brass bolts, nuts, and stacked brass washers, so as to not radiate directly into the steel.

I briefly lived in Philly Mikey, 1967 - upper Broad Street.
