The forward element of the circuit is a two-port network containing the triode. This network has two input terminals and two output terminals. The cathode is connected to both the input and output ports as shown.

The triode is a transconductance amplifier. The current flowing through the output terminals is equal to gm times the voltage across the input terminals.

The feedback element is a two port network containing the cathode resistor as shown. The feedback network samples the output current and converts it to a voltage that is summed with the input voltage, Vs.

Compare with the first diagram I posted. The rest follows in a straightforward way from the model. With a bit of Googling you can quickly find a full analysis on the web.
