I dont think they are all the same oil in the vitamin Qs and I have cut open some westcaps that oozed oil of them..The reason I question the drying out part is,the only way it would happen if there was a leak in the cap or maybe they didnt put very much in some of them..The k40s didnt oil oozing out but they had a waxy kraft paper in them..I love the vit Qs sonically..They do somthing that integrates the listener with the music..The k40s do this also as do the jensens but somehow I keep gravitating back to the Qs.I would like that photo and I will cut some small ones open..I have some johm E fast pios,abiut 12 to be exact.
No matter how stir the pot,you only get out as good as what goes in.Power supplies matter most.
