I've cut open about every kind of capacitor I have. Yes some Q's also Mike...so sorry. But they were damaged. Have you seen John E Fast caps with a bright green plastic insulated metal body? Those are very sweet. Actually, the Vitamin Q has far less oil than most of the others I've cut open, which led to my statement about drying out. Really haven't seen one completely dry, but in a few the oil looked like butter, not the same color, but it turns into a waxy consistency. There is a lot more oil in the green John E Fast caps, and I truly don't know if that would make a difference. The Matsushita's I have are literally drowning in oil. Maybe if I get the time I'll post a nice Photo-Dissection of different caps...That sounds like fun! If I do, Mike, you have to send a picture of your face when you see those butchered Vit Q's on the slab :)
