A square wave shouldn't look square after going through a circuit that
is band-limited or has time delay. All amplifiers have both.

Other posters have correctly pointed out that you have over compensated,
resulting in poorer sound.

Measure the right thing the right way and interpret the results correctly;
only then will you be able to improve things.
