thats what I always do..I just add enough to take any of the spikes off the top of the square wave..Some guys like to adjust on their sq waves at 20khz by adding tons of caps on the FB caps and its starts bucking in at the sides down at 1khz many times when they take that approach.
No matter how stir the pot,you only get out as good as what goes in.Power supplies matter most.
