The vit Q are my absolute most favorite cap BAR NONE and I would put the k40 close behind..Definitely use your k40 in the output or anyhere in the signal path.
Most of the small value caps like .0027 are not in the signal path so all you want is a stable cap there like a silver mica or an orange drop or if you have the vitamin Q thats fine but the Vit Qs can be costly so I would put them where you get the big sonic advantage..They will work fine there and if you have them,use them.Its 2700pf and the vit Q is very stable.
Speaking of american radionics,I was very suprised at how good they sounded in the scott int tube amps being as old as they were..Im sure others have found that same senario but I changed them out to k40s.
No matter how stir the pot,you only get out as good as what goes in.Power supplies matter most.
