The schematic is what I had in mind. Very elegant
"Super Mu Follower" sounds like a good description.
The choke is bootstrapped. DCR could be chosen for cathode bias.
What determines optimum inductance?
This circuit might make a good drive stage due to it's ability
to source current into a power tube grid. I wonder how stable
the output DC would be for direct coupling.
