Hi,

From the Aikenamps website I get this formula to calc for Ck…

Cathode Impedance =(ra+Rp)/(mu+1)

Example for a 45 triode with 5k OPT primary

(5k+1.7k)/(3.8+1) = 1.396k

Parallel the Cathode Impedance with Cathode Resistor to get Cathode Resistance…

Rk= 1.5k

1.396||1.5k= 723.1 Ohms

1/(2*pi*5Hz*723.1) = 0.000044 or ~44uF

Use 47uF for a nearest preferred value.

FWIW, math is my least fave subject too.
