that bypassing a cap in the signal path is such a good idea. Intuitively I feel that this practice might not be the most linear thing to do, but I do not have the technical expertise to explain it. Maybe if I had enough of the .22uf FT3s to parallel together to get around 2uf, it would have sounded better. Was it the value or construction that gave the sound the flesh and slam?
BTW, you are not alone in your regard for the PIO bypassed by teflon. There are folks I know who have tried about every cap available as a parafeed cap, and settled on the PIO bypassed by teflon.
I think what Gordon meant to say was bypassing, with dissimilar values and construction, made for a complex response, but not sure about that either.
