Choke loading SRPP stages was devised by "Aussie" DIYers. The technique simultaneously allows for both proper AC loading and correct DC resistance to be effectuated. It takes 1.2 KH. to obtain 3X 'SL7 Rp at 20 Hz. Swinging 190 V., peak to peak, from a 2 VRMS I/P, tests the mu 70 triode's ability. Choke loading keeps stage gain up.
The mandatory O/P coupling cap. in SRPP circuitry is not a significant problem working into the extremely high I/P impedance of the MOSFET source follower. A PTFE film cap. is affordable, given the low value necessary. :>)
BTW, the beta follower discussed by Morgan Jones is an alternative to choke loading. Frankly, I'm more comfortable with FETs than BJTs, when hybrid circuitry is under consideration.
