A grid choke is not necessary. :>) DC couple an IRFBC20 source follower to the 300Bs grid. Problems with DC resistance in the grid circuit vanish and mild entry into an A2 regime becomes feasible. Tubelab's "Power Drive" is a nice implementation of the concept.Oddly enough, the voltage gain block I have in mind requires costly custom "iron". It's a choke loaded 6SL7 SRPP. Would you believe that (SIC) 1200 Henries are needed. Thankfully, the regime is very low current and the DCR associated with such a huge amount of inductance is not a problem. A 6BM8 based mu follower would be much less costly. ;>)
