A snubber eliminates spikes. Despite what many audiophiles claim, audio is about engineering and nothing but engineering.

That some audiophiles seek out DH triodes with higher distortion and are willing to pay a huge premium for them does not prove that measures bad, sounds good. It only proves that some people prefer distortion, at least as long as it's 2nd harmonic.
