Thanks for the kind words. That's a great tube, Dowdy turned me on to it.

I will have to check the freq. of the ones I have used - I am not sure what they are offhand, but I am guessing higher than 27khz. (probably more like 50+ khz?). I would think the higher the better,since it would be smaller and likely less of an influence on audio band. The ones I use are 5v @ 20A, and can be about as small as 1.5" x 4" x 5". Sometimes they have an internal LCLC configuration (or maybe CLCLC), but you can definitely see the little tiny (RF style) chokes in there. You can add filtering after them, though I generally haven't bothered. Usually they have a sensing output loop so you get them to maintain their voltage even with extra filtering after the box (e.g. put the extra LCLC stuff if you want it, inside the feedback loop).

Worth a try, and plenty cheap (about $5-10 for brand-new surplus ones where I am).
