I've used them quite a bit on things like Eimac 75th. I don't put caps on them though I did try them with in-line filament chokes (common mode) and it didn't help nor hurt (e.g. no change in sound/hum/etc.). they work well, and most are small, quiet, cheap, and don't run hot. I usually get them at a semi-local surplus place. Jeff Jackson has used them a bit, among others. Worth a try, in my experience.
