RE: CCS in the cathode of a SE amp (bypassed of course)

I think most people see only the load characteristics of the CCS and while i don't particularly like the sound of a CCS as load, I do find the very valuable for situations where you need to set a specific current or have the current easily adjustable. I have used them in both the B+ and the cathode to do this and in both situations they were bypassed to "remove" their high characteristic impedance from the circuit.

for example. rather than use a variable resistor in the cathode (bypassed) ti adjust the bias, I'll place a simple CCS there and rest assured that the tube is operating at the current i desire it to.
