Hello,
Get an 8060A and sell that "Ideal" on eBay. You will LOVE it.
If you live in the Midwest, within driving distance, and promise not to strip it for parts, I can give you a clean Tektronix 547 50MHZ tube scope and cart for free.
Go for a raw 10 A. variac, rather than a 5 A. one, if not budget constrained.
If you buy and sell vintage gear, a used Dick Smith ESR meter is VERY useful to own, before getting a scope. Instantly measures supply caps, in circuit, accurately.
An HP 339A Distortion Measurement Set (one piece) is nice, it includes a low distortion sine wave oscillator and a THD measurement capability combined. ONLY needed, however, if you do original design work.
A Hickok tube tester.
Best, most sensitive test gear is free, trust your ears.
