Ive been up all nite whoring with these new teflons thinking of ways to make them better in the amps..What I have discovered is the teflons at least the FT3s have good lower and upper high end detail and focus..The paper in oil vitQs have better and broader midrange and richer bass but the teflons have a little tighter bass but less body. The trick is what Jim mcshane always says..You have to do a mix of caps to get the best sound because every cap can offer something that it does better than others..What I think would work well in a PP amp like the cit2 or the mac mc60s is to take a .22k40 or vit Q and bypass it with a .1 ft3 and even tho it comes out to a .33 cap, thats fine because I always use the .33 instead of .22 most of the time. That way we can hopfully get the midrange and body of the pios and the upper high end detail of the teflons. The sets have that midrange body but just dont enough power for certain speakers so we have to make our PP amps sound rich and sweet like them.
