Please give me some pointers on computer-based solutions. I'm in the market for one now but there seems to be a break point at about $500, after which they jump to well over a thousand and offer gigahertz-plus sampling rates. All I need is something that will handle up to five mHz or so as an adjunct to my 572 Tektronix, with the spectrum analyzer stuff that the Tek can't do. I have computer and O/S options available to suit any scope.

So far I haven't looked at much more than the Picoscope (which doesn't seem to offer much more than the much cheaper Parallax model). The best affordable bet to me seems to be the Bitscope, which has the added bonus of working with Linux. Any info on it?
