Scott, I thought about the 6B4 concept but I don't have four and when I looked I found that for some strange reason they are much more expensive than 2A3s right now. DN, thanks for the HF-22 idea - I'm a big 6SN7 fan, and that is one tube I stocked up on back in the day when they were cheap. Paul, I like to use Solens in place of PS electrolytics where possible because they work well and are reasonably priced; I'm betting I can squeeze a lower DCWV one in place of the cathode bypass as well. I'm not at my shop right now but I'll check on the coupling cap brand and report back. I thgought they were those crappy old molded black ones with the color codes but now I'm not sure.
