Telequipment was a member of the Tektronix group (at least it was in 1969). I was given one that had a burnt up power transformer so I just grabbed parts from it. On mine the electrolytic caps had the dates hand written on them so perhaps that can help you "date" yours.
If you decide to buy something you might try what I did. Find someone local on Ebay, visit them in person, and verify proper operation of the scope. We agreed to average the price of the last three auctions for the same item and I paid him right then and there and he pulled the Ebay auction. I got a dual channel 100Mhz Hitachi for about 70 bucks (IIRC) about 3 years ago. I bet you can do better now as many are upgrading to digital scopes. Look for big volume sellers who clearly buy lots from trade schools and big electonics companies.
IMHO this offers better value than a new(er) lesser grade scope. I'd also look into computer based solutions if I was starting from scratch and had no test gear.
