I'm contemplating using a rectifier that specifies 10uf as the capacatance limits as the first cap.. I know that it is not wise to use much more as it leads to failure early. I've heard this from reading people wanting to use much higher values in lower spec'd rectifiers like 60uf for a WE274b that specs 4uf.
How severe would it be to use 15uf where 10uf is specified. I'd be using two 30uf in series with 470k resistor across each cap, giving 15uf seen by the rectifier. I'm looking at the WE 422a that specs 10uf..
The rectifier is indirectly heated and there'll be a CL90 thermsistor in before the transformer to give a slower start up.thoughts?
Thanks
JD
