What would be the effect if you had a full wave bridge, using standard diodes for the B+, and you placed a single Schottky in series (B+ after the bridge passes thru the Schottky). Would the reverse recovery spike for the PS then be controlled by the Schottky? If it reduces the spike into the B+ will it also reduce ringing back into the transformer?
With the price of SIC Schottky's, it could be a cheaper way to go if it works. (I recall something like this was suggested by Voltsecond (?) that frequented Bottlehead forum.)
