How fortunate, then, that microphones, CDs and vinyl all do 100kHz. And Jesus walked on water.

There's no tube amp*--triode, pentode, interstage- or cap-coupled--that will give you 20-20,000Hz. There's no tube amp that can drive a speaker that do 20Hz, +/- 1db. For that you will have to go bi-amp and then you can use active subs.

*I'm sure there's somebody out there who has built a 1,000W tube amp. Paired with the appropriate speakers, it should be able to do 20Hz. But this is the exception.
