Hi.

I was referring to the Sakuma type iron loaded amps posted earlier below
with caption: "Remembrance of Sound Past". As iron loaded vintage like sound is not my preference, hence my quote.

In fact many vintage amps built many decades ago used O/P & power irons heavy duty built without compromise, can deliver excellent sound given proper upgrade, e.g. the power supply as you already mentioned.

If circumstances permit, I am very tempted to go over yr place (only some 7 hours driving) summer next year & pick up a couple of yr vintage stuffs for upgrade. I promise you I can turn them around to sound young & bouncy despite their old ages.

Why, it is the quality of the O/P & power irons that makes the difference. These old suckers still beat many irons made nowadays.
