what is this sound past you have been referring to lately? Everytime we put us a vintage amp,we aren't saying its end of all end but nevertheless they can be made to sound vey good with simple upgrades..
If you look at many tube amps today and even CJs,you will find the circuitry closely resembles the 1950s amps like when you wire a 6550..They supply the B+ for the plate thru the output transformer from a 450 to 500v source and the same with the UL tap to the screen grid..They ground the cathode thru a small value resistor for measurement reference and then they supply a neg bias voltage thru the control grid..
They may regulate the power supply in certain areas but other than that,its pretty much the original circuits out of the RCA radiotron designers book.
It doesn't matter how you stir
the pot, Bullshit in always equals Bullshit out!!
